My dear friend bought my son the tan bear when he was born because her sons had the duck and the frog and loved them. From the time they were tiny infants she made sure that they knew that bedtime was wonderful because they got to be with their little buddies. I did the same and Mr. Bear is, by far, his favorite comfort item. He's the perfect size, small enough that he wouldn't get tangled in it as an infant, soft, soft, soft, and sweet. He's seen our little guy through anything life dishes out; drs appointments, cast on his foot; whatever. The Pair and a Spare idea is brilliant because losing Mr. Bear would be tragic. We actually have five total. One that goes to daycare with him, one that lives at his grandparents' house, and three that we can interchange when they need washing (perfect for stomach bug times!), although sometimes he thinks he needs to have two out. If you try this, be sure to rotate them often so that one doesn't become a favorite! I've since bought these for several friends as baby gifts. I'm pregnant again and due soon. I think that I'm going to let my son pick which animal he wants to give the baby when it's born. What a wonderful way for him to welcome his baby brother or sister!

I've bought at least 20 of these in the past 2 years. My daughter loves her friend "Gigi" too much and must suck and chew on her in order to sleep. This blankie goes through daily washes and all of them have held up to the strenuous "loving" of my little one, not a single ears or horns have fallen off. The only reason I have to buy so many is because I throw them away after a while because all the sucking and chewing from my DD leaves Gigi extremely stained and ugly.

This is a perfect lovey. My son became attached to his at 3 months old. It is so soft, washes well and is a perfect size. He calls it his "dee."It has helped him through teething too (the giraffe has little nubby ears that he loved to chew on). We've had to order a couple spares, and have stashed some just in case...
